Holistic Therapy
Many people have found that traditional talk therapy helps them have a better understanding of themselves, but they continue to struggle to make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
The body and the mind are connected through the central nervous system. Improving the health of the body will improve the quality of the mind. Improving the state of the mind will improve the health of the body. Emotions are often held or stored in the body.
A common example is feeling tightness in the neck and shoulders from stress. Holistic psychotherapy utilises this connection, to allow people to experience deeper healing as the whole body-mind system is involved in treatment. Mindfulness is an important key to deepening the mind-body connection and is often helpful in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
We will work together through a holistic, collaborative, & somatic lens; leaving you with deeper insights, self-awareness, body awareness, and new ways of feeling and relating to yourself. My psychotherapy approach is also based on psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT, and hypnotherapy approaches. That way I can tailor the session to your individual needs and preferences. Therapeutically it is concerned with meaning-making, storytelling, and listening to and exploring dreams, metaphors, and images. Clients share that individual therapy helps them identify and shift emotional patterns no longer aligned with their current needs.
Sessions are billed at £85 for 50 minutes and payment is due at the time of service. Longer sessions may be available upon request.
