I first got in touch with Irina after a break up with my partner. I was overwhelmed with extreme loneliness and struggling with issues related to codependency from the loss of a close connection, thinking I’d never be able to overcome them.

I’d been seeing a talk therapist weekly the year before a year before and had worked through a lot of issues, but I’d still never learned to regulate my emotions or self soothe.

From my first appointment with Irina I felt immediate progress, and, most importantly, hope. In the evening after my first session, I used a technique that she had recommended and felt the first true relief from anxiety and loneliness since my break up, and I was able to implement this from then on.

Irina was extremely practical, sympathetic, and motivated to help me overcome these issues, and with her experience and guidance, I believed I could too. She was also incredibly accommodating of my ADHD from the outset, which I found helpful having been recently diagnosed, her knowledge and experience as a neuroscientist and psychiatric doctor was evident from this.

With Irina’s methods, it felt like instead of chipping away at issues, we would go straight to the root, delving deep into what they were and why they were there. I found this process profoundly effective in entirely freeing myself from longstanding feelings which I’d previously felt I’d never be able to let go.

I now have a much clearer understanding of my emotions, what I need, and have a greater belief in myself for overcoming things that I’d previously felt were intrinsic to me. Now, I’m happy and feel able to rely on myself, and even when things are difficult, I’m aware that I have the tools to help myself when I need to, and that it’s okay to feel even painful emotions. One of the most important things that have stuck with me is that no matter how deep rooted an emotion or conviction may be, it is possible to examine it and change, even to let go of. This brings me hope for my future, as before I’d felt like I’d just have to find ways to deal with these feelings as opposed to feeling lasting change.

I would highly recommend Irina to anyone struggling with any issues, no matter how intrinsic they may feel. Anyone struggling from feeling overwhelmed or confused by their emotions or wanting to change their behaviour would be greatly helped by seeking therapy with Irina. Personally, I will be forever grateful for the help I’ve received, and for the hope I now feel.
